A female truck driving trainee has filed a sexual discrimination lawsuit in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas in Beaumont after she alleges that she was retaliated against for complaining about her supervisor.

Kathleen Robledo, who was a student at Central Refrigerated Service Inc, a driving academy in Utah, says that her trainer tried to get her to watch a "pornographic/sexually explicit video on his computer." This took place in 2011 when they were driving from the Beehive State to Texas.

Robledo purportedly told her superior about the event, but nothing changed. In fact, she was told that she would continue to work with the same male trainer who acted inappropriately. However, the driving school did inform the defendant.

Instead of apologizing, Robledo's trainer "yelled at and belittled [the plaintiff] for being upset at his actions and for complaining to the home office and ultimately abandoned her at a truck stop," according to LandLineMag.com, a business magazine for professional truck drivers.

After filing a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, she was terminated from the academy.

The Southeast Texas Record reported that Robledo is seeking back pay, front pay and compensatory damages for mental pain and suffering and loss of enjoyment of life.
