If one of your family members dies and you have reason to believe it was a result of a business or individual's negligent or reckless behavior, you may have grounds to file a wrongful death lawsuit. Although nothing can ever make up for the loss of a loved one, there are personal injury attorneys in Missouri who can assess your claim, try your case in court and help you win monetary compensation you may be owed for your suffering.

According to KY3 News, a brother and sister aged 13 and eight, respectively, died during a 2012 Fourth of July party at the Lake of the Ozarks in central Missouri. The source states that the children were electrocuted while swimming in a part of the water located near their family's vacation property.

The St. Louis Business Journal reports that the victims' mother, Angela Anderson, "filed a wrongful death lawsuit in July [2013], claiming that Union Electric Co. (which does business as Ameren Missouri) failed to notify lake dock owners of the need to install ground fault interrupters at the dock's juncture to preview shocks in case of short circuits."

It is unclear how much money in damages Anderson is seeking, and so far attorneys have declined to comment on the lawsuit.
