No one should ever be made to feel uncomfortable in a work environment. In the event that your coworkers or supervisors have treated you unfairly based on your gender, you may have grounds to file a civil lawsuit and hold responsible parties accountable for their actions. To begin this process, contact an experienced Kansas City lawyer who will give your case the care and attention it deserves.

According to CultureMap Dallas, the city of Dallas is "prepared to reach a settlement" with a former Dallas Fire-Rescue executive who filed a lawsuit in 2009 alleging sexual harassment and discrimination. The plaintiff, Leanne Siri, claimed that "male employees emailed her lewd photos and regularly referred to themselves as 'pimps,'" notes the news outlet. After she filed the lawsuit, Siri was fired from her position for what her superiors said was poor work performance.

"Pervasive, severe, outrageous and obscene acts of discrimination, hostility, disrespect and harassment by [Dallas Fire-Rescue] leaders have slowly dismantled [Siri's] reputation and her spirit," said the original petition, as noted by the news outlet.

The settlement will purportedly total up to $390,000, which the City Council is set to approve at a briefing scheduled for May 15.
